Would you like to be both a city king and own your very own taxi company? In Taxi Empire, you build cities and run taxi operations, all with the noble goal of becoming filthy rich!
Start with a single taxi and earn your first money by clicking your way forward — soon you can hire drivers who work for you while you sit back and count the cash. Buy more taxis, upgrade them to new levels, and watch your income grow.
However, it’s not just the number of taxis that determines your success. In Taxi Empire, the placement of your buildings is crucial — the right combinations form patterns that grant powerful bonuses and unlock new opportunities. Patience is also rewarded: when your taxis and buildings reach certain milestones, your earnings increase dramatically.
Once your city is fully explored, you can activate a prestige system and restart with bonuses that multiply your future income. And with Boost Coins, you can kick things into high gear for a while — up to 200 times your normal profit for five minutes!
Are you ready to take the wheel and build your taxi empire?
When the game starts, you have one taxi. You can earn money by clicking on it. Once you’ve earned enough money, you can hire a driver so the taxi runs automatically, and you can buy more taxis and levels for each taxi. The more taxis you have, and the higher their levels, the more money you earn per trip. You also need to fill your city with buildings, which can also be leveled up. When a taxi stops at a building, you earn more money the higher the building’s level.
A central part of the game is combinations. When you place your buildings, they can form special combinations, which have many advantages. First, discovering combinations unlocks new taxis, buildings, and drivers. Second, when taxis stop at a building that is part of a combination, you earn more money. You may even be able to arrange your buildings so that they are part of multiple combinations, optimizing your income. In the combinations overview, you can see what bonuses each combination provides—but you’ll need to discover the exact layout yourself.
NOTE: Combinations must not be revealed in public chat, as many players prefer to discover them on their own. You are welcome to ask for a message or check a guestbook where the combinations are shown.
When you reach high levels on your taxis and buildings, such as 50, 100, 200, etc., their earnings increase. Always aim for milestones to earn money as efficiently as possible. The green multi-buy button in the top-right corner can help you reach milestones if you press it until the green flag icon.
Buying levels becomes increasingly expensive, so eventually progress slows down. When that happens, it’s time to reset your city. Resetting grants prestige, a bonus that increases your earnings. Prestige also unlocks upgrades that multiply your income. Another benefit of resetting is that you can place your buildings in new ways, potentially creating better combinations than before. The game will show a red exclamation mark when it recommends a reset.
As soon as you can achieve just 5% more prestige than you previously had, you are allowed to restart your city. The game will show you a red exclamation mark when it recommends restarting — this happens when your prestige can be doubled and there is more than 30 minutes until the next milestone.
The game’s currency consists of screws and nuts. Screws can only be obtained by purchasing them with real money, while nuts can be earned in many ways. Both can be used for various advantages in the game. More details are in the shop section. You can save up to 50,000 nuts—any excess will be lost, so make sure to spend them. There is no upper limit for screws.
Activating a Boost Coin multiplies your earnings for 5 minutes in the city you are playing. There are x2, x3, x5, x10, x50, x100, and x200 Boost Coins, and you can collect as many as you want. Activating multiple Boost Coins at the same time adds their value together. You can activate up to a maximum of x999.
Each day, you will receive around 5 small tasks, such as buying levels for your buildings or hiring drivers for your taxis. Completing a task rewards 5–20 silver stars, which can be redeemed for nuts and Boost Coins. Each month, you can collect up to 2,000 silver stars and claim the corresponding rewards. For even better rewards, you can purchase super rewards.
The game will occasionally give random gifts in the form of earnings, levels, and Boost Coins. Tap the gift at the top-left corner to see its contents.
In the game shop, you can buy screws and nuts, as well as temporary or permanent boosters for your earnings:
Time Travel – earns you income equivalent to 1 hour, 1 day, or 2 weeks.
Rush Hour – makes your taxis run faster for the next hour.
Super Gifts – doubles the value of gifts in the game.
Multiplier x2 and x3 – increases your earnings until you reset your city.
Super Prizes – unlocks more rewards from daily tasks.
Sell Button – allows you to sell your taxis.
Larger Storage – raises the maximum number of nuts you can save by 10,000.
If you’re extremely lucky, a taxi type can be upgraded to a shiny taxi. It will permanently earn double the usual amount, even after you reset the city.
The world map unlocks when you reach 20% milestones. Here, you can build new cities and reset cities you’ve completed 100%. Each time you reset a city, you receive a green star.
Green stars can be invested in factories. The more stars you invest in a factory, the higher its output. There are four factories:
Nut Factory – produces golden nuts.
Boost Coin Factory – produces x2, x3, and x5 Boost Coins.
Taxi Factory – produces levels for your taxis.
Building Factory – produces levels for your buildings.
At the bottom left, there is a button with a magnifying glass. When you press it, you can get different information about your city and earnings. There are three views:
Parking fee: Here, the roads are colored based on how much you earn when taxis stop there.
Building: Here, the buildings are colored based on how much they contribute to the earnings.
Taxi: Here, the taxis are colored based on which taxi earns the most.
For all views, the color represents the difference in earnings. If all colors are the same, the earnings are identical. If a color is red, it earns more than a blue or green one. You can therefore have high earnings both with and without red areas.
The following section describes some of the mathematical calculations the game is built on. It is not at all necessary to read or understand this section in order to enjoy the game or be good at it. Only continue if you are curious about how your income is calculated.
You earn money for each trip a taxi completes. The income is calculated as follows:
Distance ⨯ fare + parking fees
There are three elements to understand in this calculation:
There are two key things you as a player can optimize, besides simply buying levels:
If there is more you would like to know about the game’s mathematics, feel free to ask us — we can expand this section with more details.
Under Prestige → Statistics, you can find various numbers that show how much you have played and how much you have earned.
If you want to compare your city layout with other players, you can look at the value called “Total base parking fee.” This is the total parking fee for all your roads, but not multiplied by levels, prestige, or milestones. Therefore, multiple players can have the same value even if they are not equally far in the game.
Another interesting value is “Roads with combinations.” This counts how many combinations affect the earnings of your roads. Since a building can be part of multiple combinations, the total number can be higher than the number of roads in the city.
When you reach 100% milestones, you are awarded a score based on how efficiently you completed them. The score is calculated as follows:
Score = 1,000,000,000 / ((time + time travel) ⨯ 2)
As shown, you should be cautious with time travel if you want a high score. If you only use time travel that does not give you enough money for milestones, it will benefit your score. All other forms of assistance are not included in the calculation and will therefore not negatively affect your score.
Taxi Empire takes the best of Farm Empire and Tower Empire and improves those features even more. Once you get settled into the game here are some nice features to look for:
1) The Blue Check found in Farm is replaced with a green flag that when clicked, instantly takes you up to the highest milestone for that asset. That saves a lot of clicking!
2) Two different viewing modes: map and the five buttons at the bottom. I stay in the five button mode most (I resize my window so all the buildings’ data shows up so as not to scroll through.) Plus you can buy everything available for ALL assets in one click using the green flag. That is a huge win! IMHO. Using the five buttons at the bottom also lets you easily click through easily for purchasing assets, information for milestones, upgrades, prestige and when to restart, as well as taxi & building income.
3) Discovering the different combinations of buildings is a fun cerebral-type puzzle and the rewards for solving them are generous. These are just a few of the great features for this game. Five Stars!!!
