Word Search

In Word Search, you have to find words hidden in a grid of letters. The faster you find the words, the more stars you are rewarded with. The game has five difficulty levels and two different game modes.

Marking words

When you have found a word, mark it by holding down the left mouse button and dragging the mouse from one end of the word to the other. Then release the left mouse button again.

Difficulty levels

The five difficulty levels are Easy, Normal, Advanced, Expert and Professor. The difficulty level determines how many directions the words can be written in - at the lowest difficulty level thee words can only be written horizontally and vertically in the reading direction, while at the highest difficulty level they can also be written in all diagonal directions and in reverse reading direction. The arrows in the top left of the game show which directions you need to search for the words.

On the Expert difficulty level, only the first letter of the words you need to find is shown, and on Professor, none of the letters are shown!

The time limit is also adjusted according to the difficulty level, the higher the difficulty level the more time you get to find the words. At the lowest difficulty level, you have two minutes, and for each difficulty level you move up, you get an extra minute. On the Professor difficulty level, the time limit is six minutes.


Game mode - Categories

In the Categories game mode, you select a category and are given 10 words to find within that category. Once you have found all the words, you are awarded 1-3 stars depending on how quickly you find the words. If you use less than half the time limit, you get all three stars, and if you go over the time limit, you only get one star. Each category can be played in all five difficulty levels.


Game mode - Round game

In the round game mode, you choose a difficulty level and are then given 10 random words - from several different categories. If you find all the words before time runs out, you advance to the next round. You are also awarded 1-6 stars, depending on how fast you are and what difficulty level you are playing on.

On the Easy, Normal and Advanced difficulty levels, the number of different word directions will increase with each round, so keep an eye on the arrows in the top left corner.


Tokens

You win tokens by earning stars. For every star you get on the lowest difficulty level Easy you win 1000 tokens, on Normal it is 2000 tokens per star, Advanced is 3000, Expert gives 4000 and finally Professor is 5000 tokens per star.
