Word Search

In the game Word Search you have to find words hidden in a grid of letters. The faster you find the words, the more stars you are rewarded with. The game has five difficulty levels and two different ways to play.


Marking words

Once you have found a word, mark it by holding down the left mouse button and dragging the mouse from one end of the word to the other. Then release the left mouse button again.


Difficulty levels

The five difficulty levels are Easy, Normal, Advanced, Expert and Professor. The difficulty level determines how many directions the words can be placed in - at the lowest difficulty level they can only be placed horizontally and vertically in the reading direction, while at the highest difficulty level they can also be placed in all diagonal directions and in reverse reading direction. The arrows at the top left of the game show which directions you need to search for the words.

On Expert difficulty, only the first letter of the words you need to find is shown, and on Professor none of the letters are shown!

The time limit is also adjusted according to the difficulty level, but here you get more time the higher the difficulty level is. On the lowest difficulty level you have two minutes, and for each difficulty level you go up you get an extra minute. On the Professor difficulty level, the time limit is six minutes.


Game mode - Categories
In the Categories game mode, you choose a category and are then given 10 words to find within that category. When you have found all the words, you are awarded 1-3 stars depending on how quickly you find the words. If you use less than half the time limit you get all three stars and if you go over the time limit you only get one star. Each category can be played in all five difficulty levels.

Word of the Day
Word of the Day is a daily challenge where you have to guess one secret word. Each player gets their own Word of the Day, which can only be completed once per day.
The word comes from one of the game's current categories.
If you guess the word correctly, you'll receive 25,000 tokens. Keep your streak going by guessing correctly on consecutive days, and your reward increases by 25,000 tokens for each day in your streak.
For example, if you have a 4-day streak, you'll receive 100,000 tokens on the 4th day. If you guess incorrectly or skip a day, your streak resets, and the reward starts over at 25,000 tokens.

You need to guess a five-letter word. After each guess, the colors show how close you are to guessing the word:

🟩 Green = The letter is correct and in the correct position.
🟨 Yellow = The letter is in the word, but in the wrong position.
⬜ Gray = The letter is not in the word.

Note: The maximum reward you can earn through your streak is 250,000 tokens.


Game mode - Round game
In the round game mode, you choose a difficulty level and are then given 10 random words - from several different categories. If you find all the words before time runs out, you advance to the next round. You are also awarded 1-6 stars, depending on how fast you are and what difficulty level you are playing on.

On Easy, Normal and Advanced difficulty levels, the number of different word directions will increase with each round, so keep an eye on the arrows in the top left corner. You will also get one second less for each round you complete.


Tokens
You earn tokens by earning stars. For each star you get on the lowest difficulty level Easy you win 1000 tokens, on Normal it's 2000 tokens per star, Advanced is 3000, Expert gives 4000 and finally Professor where it's 5000 tokens per star.
